This policy applies to Life Reminders on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Android. Both apps are built by the same developer using the same privacy principles. Where the implementation differs between platforms, it's called out explicitly below.
Everything you create in the app stays on the device that created it (with the optional sync exception described later):
Apple's SwiftData framework (Core Data under the hood). Your data lives in the app's private container.
Android Room (SQLite under the hood). Your data lives in the app's private storage area, inaccessible to other apps.
Tapping the microphone uses your platform's speech recognition framework to convert what you say into text:
Apple's on-device speech recognition. All voice processing happens locally on your device. No audio recordings or transcripts are sent to our servers or to Apple's servers when on-device mode is selected (the default). Available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
On Android 12 (API 31) and newer, the app explicitly requests the system's on-device recognizer (createOnDeviceSpeechRecognizer), which guarantees your voice audio never leaves your phone. On Android 8 through 11, the app requests offline-preferred recognition via the EXTRA_PREFER_OFFLINE hint, which most modern device manufacturers honor — but it is technically OEM-dependent. If your device falls back to Google's cloud speech service, that audio is processed by Google under their privacy policy and is not retained by Life Reminders.
All reminder notifications are scheduled and delivered locally by your device's operating system. They are not sent through any server, push notification provider, or third party we operate.
On Android 13 and newer, you'll be asked to grant notification permission once during the welcome tour. You can change this any time in Settings → Notifications.
If you upgrade to Life Reminders Pro on iOS, your reminders sync across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch using Apple's CloudKit framework. The data is stored in your personal private iCloud database, which only you can access. We do not have access to your iCloud data — even Apple does not, beyond the encrypted blobs they store on your behalf.
iCloud sync is governed entirely by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. You can disable iCloud sync at any time by signing out of iCloud or disabling iCloud Drive for Life Reminders in your device settings.
iCloud sync is not available on Android (yet — see below).
An optional Google Drive-based sync between Android and iOS is planned for version 1.1. It will use your own personal Google Drive's app-only folder (invisible to other apps and to us) and will be end-to-end encrypted. It will be opt-in only and disabled by default. This feature is not yet available.
If you choose the iOS Ad-Supported tier, the app displays a banner advertisement provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers and approximate location to serve relevant ads. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and you can switch back to the Free or Pro tier at any time to disable ads.
If you choose the Android Ad-Supported tier, the app displays a single Native Advanced ad styled to match the dashboard. The ad is clearly labeled "Ad" per Google's policy. Google may collect device identifiers and approximate location to serve relevant ads. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can switch back to the Free or Pro tier at any time to disable ads.
We don't include any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, or user tracking mechanisms in either app beyond what is required for ad delivery in the optional ad-supported tiers above. We do not know how many active users we have. We do not know which features you use. We do not know which categories you create. By design.
Life Reminders Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely through your platform's billing system:
We do not collect or have access to your payment information. Pro is Family Sharing compatible on both platforms — buy it once on either store and your family members can install it for free under the same Apple Family or Google Play Family.
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to any third party. The only exception is the advertising data described above, which applies only to the Ad-Supported tier and is handled directly by Google's advertising SDK. Free, Pro, Mac, and Apple Watch experiences do not display any advertisements and do not share any data with advertising networks.
Because Life Reminders stores all of your reminder data locally on your device, data deletion is straightforward and does not require contacting us:
We never receive a copy of your reminders or any personal data, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. If you still have questions about data removal, email sushantjdeveloper@gmail.com.
Life Reminders is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. The app is designed as a general-purpose reminder tool for all ages.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. Substantial changes will surface in the in-app onboarding tour the next time you open the app.
